Core4ce Appoints Rick Hubbard as Chief Scientist, Company’s Highest Technical Rank

May 30 2025

Core4ce’s Board of Managers is proud to announce the appointment of Rick Hubbard as a Chief Scientist at Core4ce.

Chief Scientists are Core4ce’s highest-ranking technical leaders—entrusted with shaping our innovation strategy, guiding enterprise-level technical direction, and advancing the communities of practice that drive our long-term mission success. With this appointment, Rick joins Curtis Arnold, Jackie Lawrence, and Mark Poe as part of our distinguished cohort of Chief Scientists.

Rick’s selection reflects his deep expertise and meaningful contributions across the enterprise—particularly through his work leading the Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning Lab (AAIM Lab) within the Advanced Mission Solutions (AMS) business unit. Under his leadership, the AAIM Lab has become a hub of high-impact research, applied innovation, and mission-ready AI/ML capabilities.

Headquartered near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, the AAIM Lab is run by a cross-functional team of engineers and PhD-level scientists who share a common vision of advancing the art of the possible. From developing next-generation metalenses to conducting hypersonics research, the lab supplies state-of-the-art AI/ML-enabled services in an accelerated timeline. Members of the AAIM Lab team, including Rick, recently presented at Core4ce’s 2025 Innovation Summit.

In his new role, Rick will help define the technologies we pursue, identify strategic investments, and ensure Core4ce continues to lead from the front in fast-evolving technical domains. He will also represent the company in national technical forums, expand our learning ecosystem, and work across business units to replicate and scale transformational ideas.

“Rick is a natural fit for this appointment—not only because of his technical leadership, but because of his ability to build trust, drive action, and inspire the next generation of talent at Core4ce,” said Core4ce Managing Partner and Chief Technology Officer Todd Harbour.
